Tabletop Club seeks new members, recognition

A new club known as the Tabletop Club has formed for people interested in card and role-playing games.

The Tabletop Club is devoted to card games like Magic: The Gathering and Vanguard as well as more traditional role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder.

Currently, the club is planning several events, such as card game tournaments and large-scale role-playing game sessions.

In the past, groups of friends have put together small, self-managed clubs that dissolved shortly after their founding members graduated. This club, however, has gained popularity as well as a school sanction, showing promise to stick around after its current members leave.

“I really enjoy playing games and hanging out with my friends,” freshman A.J. Swift, a member of the club, said.

The club is recruiting members for dueling sessions and role-playing game sessions, as well as lower-level management. The club currently only has about a dozen members.

“We hope to get some more members soon,” club leader and freshman Aria Baker said, “But everybody is working hard to get the club organized.”

After a sponsor is secured, the Tabletop Club will be meeting every Learn.
