Varsity football ended their historic season on Nov. 13 with a 36-0 loss to Brooke Point High School in the regional tournament.

After getting their first win in years last October, varsity finished their first winning season in years with a 6-4 record and four wins by more than 20 points.

These achievements, however, were just steps towards the team’s ultimate goals which they will continue pushing for in coming seasons.

“We were able to snap a 26-game losing streak last year,” Masten said. “We set a goal for the players to go over 500, win conference 13, and win a state title. We will keep those goals going forward.”

While the goals remain lofty, they represent the desire to shape a new team with a new culture.
“Marshall is a winning program now and we must uphold this newfound winning tradition,” Masten said.
