D.C. offers varied eating experiences

Rank & File reached out to students for input on the best restaurants to visit in Washington D.C.

Sticky Rice Sushi

Dark design and creatively titled sushi make this H Street restaurant a local favorite. Sticky Rice Sushi is frequently crowded, their top floor showing movies like Mean Girls on a projector. “They have a bucket, a metal bucket, of tater tots available,” senior Harrison Xu said. “How could you not? Their sushi is top tier too.”

located 1224 H St NE

Good Stuff Eatery

Convenient to Capitol Hill, Good Stuff Eatery serves burgers and fries “so fresh that if we made it any fresher you’d blush.” Advertising as a healthier alternative to fast food, Good Stuff is frequently patronized by government employees. “Tasty organic burgers like this are worth a little extra,” freshman Kiki Baker said. “They’ve got farm-fresh ingredients that make me feel better about what feels like fast food.”

located 303 Pennsylvania Ave SE

Red Rocks Pizza

Creaky wood floors and perpetually-open windows are the essence of Red Rocks Pizza, which serves neapolitan fare as well as live music acts. “I had a meatball stromboli there once the size of my head. It was filled with this great mozzarella and the best meatballs I’ve ever had,” sophomore Spencer Jones said. “I would definitely go back in a second. I just wish they were a little cheaper. They’ve got a really cool design thing going on too.”
