Speech and debate club returns with more focus on inclusion

“I think we had a very successful interest meeting, ” co-president and junior Teddy Daniel said.

The club’s initiative is to involve new attendees who enjoy debating and hold speeches.

“We want to engage as many people as possible,” co-president and junior Noah Daniel said.

The club wants to advance the debate and speech skills of both pre-existing and new members. ”We definitely want to bring up novice people up to the varsity league,” Teddy Daniel said.
The club will aim to accomplish this through having workshops on individual, partner, and group debates and speeches that builds rhetoric skills for new members.

”If you have a strong community for debate and speech, then it is not just you advancing to the next level,” senior and club officer Rose Tarry said.  “It is teamwork for the GCM community as a whole.”
