Key Club writes holiday cards to hospitalized kids

On Nov. 30, the Key Club met during Learn to write holiday letters to hospitalized kids.

“I love kids, and since it’s the holiday season, anything I can do to make someone’s day better would be wonderful,” junior Breanna Fulton said. “I just want everyone to have happy holidays.”

Key Club worked with the organization Cards for Hospitalized Kids, which is based out of Chicago, Illinois.

Club president and junior Luka Gabitsinashvili said he was excited about the turnout.

“A lot of people came, so that means a lot of our club members care about others,” Gabitsinashvili said. “I think writing the cards for these kids is really showing that we understand how lucky we are, and that it’s always important to care.”

Junior Matthew Capuano-Rizzo said that he took this as an opportunity to reflect on his blessings.

“I think that we’re all very privileged, and we have a lot of blessings in our lives,” Capuano-Rizzo said. “I feel that we should employ our privilege to help others and help those who are struggling. A lot of people care about brightening these kids’ days around the holidays, so I’m optimistic about the future with what our generation is doing.”
