Sports Picture Day builds anticipation for the season

Athletes playing winter sports got themselves mentally prepared and excited for the new season at sports picture day on Nov. 20.

Sophomore girls varsity basketball player Zoe Soule said picture day served as a bonding opportunity for players, and left many wondering what this upcoming season would bring.

“Picture Day was really cool because it brought us together more as a team,” Soule said. “It got us really excited for our upcoming first game.”

Other athletes agree with Soule, stating that picture day created a sense of anticipation that helped ready them for the season.

“This is when the season starts; this is when it’s official,” sophomore girls varsity basketball player Caroline Catterton said. “This is when it starts to get serious.”

Junior girls varsity basketball player Izzy De Mesa said picture day helped athletes get comfortable and allowed them to focused on their goals for the upcoming season.

“I feel excited and ecstatic,” De Mesa said. “Our coaches really emphasize anticipation and perseverance.”
