Wizards advance to playoffs for second year in a row

On Mar. 31 the Washington Wizards clinched the playoffs after a victory over the Charlotte Hornets. This is the second playoff berth in a row for the Wizards and their 4th playoff season over the past five years. Despite the Wizards making the playoffs most years, many students are still very excited.

“It’s good to have a consistent sports team from Washington,” freshman Thomas Regan said.

Freshman James Mills agreed with Regan. “The Wizards are a reliable team, hopefully they go far,” Mills said.

The playoff news comes after NBA All-Star Point Guard John Wall returned after missing two months due to a knee injury. The Wizards lost 13 games during the course of John Wall’s injury.

“John Wall came back and still needs time to regain his confidence, and once he does,  I believe they can beat anyone in the eastern conference, especially the Celtics,” freshman Sam Soufi said.

The Wizards will face either the Toronto Raptors or the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
