Local library remains an underrated study space

Located only half a mile from school, Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library offers a quiet, collaborative space for students to work in after school, but it is not as popular a spot as it should be.

Marshall is made up of a lot of transfers that live anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour away, and as a result, they are unfamiliar with the resources in Falls Church. Local students need to be more proactive in showing their friends these spots, so everyone has an equal opportunity to take advantage of the nearby learning environment.

With quiet rooms as well as group spaces, the library serves a much greater purpose than just providing free books. For those with loud younger siblings or a lack of space at home, having a building that is educationally focused and individualized to fit everyone’s preferred work environment is not just helpful, but necessary. As an added bonus, the building is close enough that even walkers can access it after school using the crosswalk across Route 7.

Marshall’s library is a great resource, but its hours are much more limited, particularly during the afternoon. I encourage students to look into spending an hour or two at the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library before heading home, to take advantage of such a beautiful, convenient space.
