Choir director Anna Valentino conducts last concert at Marshall

On Wednesday May 18, temporary choir director Anna Valentino conducted the spring concert, her last concert at Marshall.

“In the beginning, I was very nervous,” Valentino said. “But it was incredible. It went really well and I’m so proud of everybody.

Valentino said she was sad to be leaving everybody and specifically wished the seniors farewell.

“I hope that they enjoy college,” Valentino said. “I think that it will be an incredible experience full of lots of fun and new [adventures].”

She expressed her gratitude for the amazing group.

“I’ve just never seen such a lovely senior class before,” Valentino said. “They’ve been through so much because of COVID-19, but they pulled together and it’s really beautiful.”

She is also thankful for the work done by the previous choir director.

“I’m going to miss [former choir director Kelly Pierson],” Valentino said. “She created an incredible choir environment full of lots of incredible students and I’m really going to miss that.”

Although Valentino will be leaving along with the seniors, she hopes to return next year to visit for the spring concert.

“I am going to miss everything about Marshall,” Valentino said. “[Especially] the incredible students here.”
