School is out, summer is in

Students staying in Northern Virginia for the summer discuss activities to do and locations to visit with friends and family throughout the upcoming months.

“Over the summer I like to go to amusement parks like Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion. It’s fun, those rides are fun. I really enjoy going with my family and friends. The roller coasters are my favorite. I love roller coasters. I like going up really high and then going down super fast. It’s super fun for me. I usually go once or twice a year for like the past five years. Most of the time it’s during the summer. I think it’s special because it’s something I really enjoy and we barely do it.”

“I made a summer list of stuff I wanted to do, like go to Gravelly Point, go to a [Nationals] game, and go to concerts at Jiffy Lube Live. I just wanted to do fun things this summer and thought about making a list to make sure I actually did them. We just thought of some of the activities I [mentioned these] because they seemed interesting and good things to do in the summer.”

“In the summer I like to bike a lot. It’s fun to bike during the daytime when the W and OD Trail is less crowded, so I like biking to Reston, Herndon or sometimes D.C. It is really fun to bike on the trail because you get to see how connected everything is in NoVa and go past all of these places you normally just drive by. Also, I like to try new places to eat in the area since new restaurants are always popping up around here.”
